The right to truth

With Paola and Claudio Regeni, Alessandra Ballerini (Regeni family lawyer), Luigi Manconi (President of the Senate Commission for Human Rights), Sauro Longhi (Rector of the Università Politecnica delle Marche), Paolo Pignocchi (Vice President of Amnesty International, Italy).
Introduction by Antonio Mastrovincenzo, Le Marche President of the Regional Council.
Moderated by Andrea Nobili, Le Marche Region Ombudsman.

Seven months after the kidnapping and killing in Egypt of Giulio Regeni, truth and justice still look far away, hidden by a puzzle of official versions proved wrong, diplomatic tensions and pressure on those who try to shed light on the tortures and death of the Italian researcher. Attempts to throw the investigations off track, lies and silence have been the protagonists of these months, while the violation of civil rights perpetrated in Egypt by Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi has become more and more evident: kidnappings, tortures, missing political opponents.
