Karim Franceschi is the only Italian who went to Syria to fight against the IS: he is 26 years old and he was born in Senigallia. His father is Italian and his mother is Moroccan. Karim has fought in KobanÎ contributing to the greatest defeat of the Caliphate.

The book, written together with the journalist Fabio Tonacci, is a meticulous reconstruction of the months spent in battle and describes cruel fights, reprisals, massacres of civilians and ruined villages: a report on what the ferocity of war means.
