The Orchestra Popolare del Saltarello (Saltarello Popular Orchestra) originates from the research and the appreciation of traditional music from Abruzzo, in particular the saltarello, the music of shepherds during transhumance: 16 musicians and an extraordinary dancing group will evoke the paths and the rhythms related to the folk tradition of Abruzzo, a region surrounded by the sea and the mountains.
The band is composed by barrel organs, bass, drum, guitars, oud, bouzouki, mandolin, tambourine, zampogna (bagpipe), flutes, piccolo, voices interpreting the traditional repertory of Abruzzo. Reinvented songs from the folk tradition of Abruzzo integrate the repertory of the Orchestra for an embracing, innovative, surprising show that makes you feel like dancing.
