The concert “Mediterranean Serenade” is born within the context of a wider cultural project aiming at promoting and bringing out the exchange and interaction between music and musicians of the Mediterranean area, both in Italy and abroad. Particularly, the concert proposes pieces by the composer Giovanni Seneca, along with well-known repertory pieces, such as the adagio from the Aranjuez concert by Joaquin Rodrigo and the fandango by Luigi Boccherini. The leading wire is represented by the element of “popularity” interpreted in its widest meaning: both as communication ability towards a wide and differentiated public, and as integration between learned and folk traditional language. In “Mediterranean Serenade” classicism, folklore and modernity meet together, intermingling in a charming poetic journey in search of the music folk soul, among changing and opposing styles, quotations, different atmosphere and awesomeness. All this within a dimension of brilliant lightness made even more enticing by the peculiar timbre mixture created by classic guitar and strings together.

Le concert nait dans le contexte d’un projet cultural de grande importance qui vise à promouvoir et à mettre en valeur, soit en Italie, soit à l’étranger l’image des compositeurs et des musiciens des Marches. Grace à la collaboration entre le Festival International d’Hammamet et l’Association Adriatico Mediterraneo, le concert présente au public les compositions musicales de Giovanni Seneca, ainsi que de célèbres morceaux de répertoire comme l’adagio du concert d’Aranjuez de Joaquin Rodrigo et le fandango de Luigi Boccherini, dont le fil conducteur est représenté par l’élément de la "popularité" soit comme capacité de communication à l’égard d’un public vaste et hétérogène soit comme intégration entre un langage cultivé et un langage populaire traditionnel. Dans ce concert le classicisme, le folklore et la modernité se rencontrent s’entremêlent à la recherche de l’âme populaire de la musique à travers contrastes de styles, citations, atmosphères et suggestions différentes. Tout cela à l’intérieur d’une dimension de brillante légèreté rendue encore plus séduisante par l’amalgame timbre crée par la guitare classique unie aux instruments à cordes.
