“Canto Clandestino" is taken from “Un canto clandestino salva dall’abisso” by Mimmo Sammartino, journalist and writer, and it is a lyrical transfiguration of real facts.
It is a secular prayer, a choral mourning for the tragedy occurred and still occurring in the Mediterranean Sea. Everything starts from the shipwreck happened between December 25th and 26th in front of Portopalo di Capopassero: 283 migrants dead in the storm.
That shipwreck was not recognized for 5 years. With the passage of time, the show has been integrated with other stories, transforming the daily news in literary narration of a highly topical issue in our times.
